To be honest, this is the hardest part of being an artist, talking about yourself and not making it sound egotistical or perhaps even worse, boring. But for those that are interested, I grew up in a small town in central Minnesota. It was here that I gained a great appreciation for math, science, and art. All of which I use to great effect in my photography today.
Growing up in Minnesota has allowed me to gain an appreciation for nature, and at the same time the desire to travel and see more.
People always ask artists why they do their artwork, and there is a lot of pressure to have a mind-blowing and existential answer. For me, at least, it is simple. I do it because it is fun and I enjoy it. As long as those two things stay true, I will continue to shoot photography.
To put it altogether, my aim is to capture scenes that people want to have in their homes. Whether this is by a meticulous use of advanced techniques and methods to capture the natural beauty of a scene. Or solely shee
r patience when waiting for the right set of conditions. Although I spend a lot of time planning photo shoots, sometimes the best moments are the ones that take me by surprise.
